reedbed

Swampy tall stalks

A reedbed is a dense growth of reeds in shallow water or marshy ground.

These wetland areas provide important habitat for birds and other wildlife: Bitterns nest in the reedbed.

Reedbeds also filter water naturally and are sometimes created artificially for wastewater treatment.
