reblocking

Reforming felt headwear

Reblocking is the process of reshaping or restretching carpet that has become loose, wrinkled, or buckled, pulling it taut and resecuring it to the tack strips along the room's edges.

The term also appears in urban planning, where reblocking refers to reorganizing informal settlements by reconfiguring lot boundaries to create proper streets and access to utilities: The slum reblocking project gave residents legal addresses for the first time.
