reanimators

Those restoring life

Reanimators are those who reanimate—who restore life or vitality to something dead or dormant.

The word appears most often in horror and science fiction contexts, where reanimators bring corpses back to life through science or sorcery: The reanimators in the film used forbidden experiments to raise the dead.

More loosely, someone who revives a defunct project or forgotten tradition might be called a reanimator.
