pulp art
Cheap magazine artwork
Pulp art is the illustration style associated with pulp magazines of the early-to-mid 20th century—lurid, dramatic, and boldly colored.
The aesthetic featured action-packed scenes, menacing villains, and often scantily clad women in peril.
Originally produced cheaply and quickly, the style has been revived as retro kitsch: The bar's walls were covered in pulp art prints of detectives and femmes fatales.
