pulley wheel
Grooved lifting disc
A pulley wheel is the grooved wheel component of a pulley system around which a rope, cable, or belt runs.
The groove keeps the line from slipping off as the wheel rotates.
Though pulley alone often refers to the complete mechanism, pulley wheel specifies just the rotating disc: The pulley wheel had worn smooth and needed replacing.
