prognostications

Prophecies of outcomes

Prognostications are predictions or forecasts, especially about future events.

The word carries a formal or slightly grandiose tone, often used when the prediction seems weighty or pretentious: His prognostications about the economy proved wildly wrong.

It can also be used ironically for mundane guesses: What are your prognostications for tonight's game?
