proctologist
Bottom-examining physician
A proctologist is a physician who specializes in disorders of the rectum, anus, and colon.
The term is older and less formal than the current medical designation, colorectal surgeon.
Proctologist appears frequently in jokes, where the profession serves as shorthand for unpleasant work: My brother-in-law is a proctologist—he deals with assholes all day.
