prefetch
Load before needed
Prefetch is a computing term for retrieving data or instructions before they're explicitly requested, anticipating what will be needed next.
A browser might prefetch links on a page you're likely to click; a processor prefetches instructions it expects to execute.
The goal is reducing wait time by having data ready in cache: The app prefetches the next episode while you're watching.
