polylines

Joined straight line segments

Polylines are connected sequences of straight line segments, used especially in computer graphics and mapping software.

Unlike a single line between two points, a polyline chains multiple points together: The GPS track appeared as a polyline following the hiking trail.

In technical drawing and GIS applications, polylines represent paths, boundaries, and routes without requiring curves.
