pinochle
Forty-eight card game
Pinochle is a trick-taking card game for two to four players, played with a 48-card deck containing two copies of cards nine through ace.
Points come from winning tricks and from declaring certain card combinations called melds.
The game has American roots but derives from earlier European games: My grandparents played pinochle every Sunday.
