tandem cycling
Two-seat bicycle riding
Tandem cycling is a form of cycling in which two riders share a single bicycle built for two, with one seated behind the other.
The front rider, called the captain or pilot, steers and controls braking while the rear rider, called the stoker, contributes pedaling power.
Tandems are popular among couples, visually impaired cyclists paired with sighted pilots, and competitive racers who can achieve higher speeds than solo cyclists due to combined power output and reduced aerodynamic drag per rider.
