pinata

Bash the animal

A piñata is a decorated container—traditionally of papier-mâché—filled with candy and small toys, hung up to be broken open with a stick by blindfolded participants.

Associated with Mexican celebrations and children's birthday parties, the piñata swings from a rope while the blindfolded person swings at it: The kids lined up to take turns hitting the piñata.
