live band
Musicians playing now
A live band is a group of musicians performing in person rather than recorded.
The term distinguishes real-time performance from recorded music, DJ sets, or backing tracks: The wedding had a live band instead of a playlist.
Venues advertise live bands to signal the energy and spontaneity of musicians playing on stage.
