penman
Master of letterforms
A penman is someone skilled in handwriting or calligraphy, or more broadly, a writer or author.
The term is old-fashioned, evoking an era when fine handwriting was a prized accomplishment: He was known as the finest penman in the county.
A poor penman produces illegible script.
