pedal assist
Motor-augmented biking mode
Pedal assist is a feature on electric bicycles that provides motor power only when the rider is pedaling.
Unlike a throttle, which can propel the bike independently, pedal assist amplifies the rider's effort: The pedal assist kicked in as she climbed the hill.
Most e-bikes offer multiple assist levels, from minimal boost to near-effortless riding.
