paperfolding
Making creased art
Paperfolding is the craft of folding paper into decorative or representational shapes without cutting or gluing.
The Japanese art of origami is the most familiar form: She learned paperfolding as a child and can still make a crane from memory.
The term emphasizes technique over cultural tradition.
