pancake race

Skillet-flipping footrace

A pancake race is a footrace in which competitors run while holding a frying pan and flipping a pancake, traditionally held on Shrove Tuesday in Britain.

The most famous takes place in Olney, England, where the tradition dates to the fifteenth century.

Runners must flip their pancakes a set number of times while racing to the finish line.
