palm rest
Keyboard comfort pad
A palm rest is the area of a laptop below the keyboard where your palms naturally settle while typing, or a separate cushioned accessory that sits in front of a keyboard to support the wrists and heels of the hands.
The accessory version, sometimes called a wrist rest, reduces strain during extended typing sessions: I bought a gel palm rest for my mechanical keyboard.
