palak
Leafy green vegetable
Palak is the Hindi word for spinach, appearing in Indian cuisine: palak paneer is spinach with cheese curds, palak dal combines spinach with lentils.
Restaurant menus and recipes use the term interchangeably with saag, though saag can refer to any leafy greens, not just spinach.
