oxygenators
Machines adding air
Oxygenators are devices that add oxygen to something, most often blood.
In medical contexts, an oxygenator is a component of a heart-lung machine that performs the gas exchange function of the lungs during open-heart surgery—removing carbon dioxide and infusing oxygen.
The term also applies to devices that aerate aquariums or ponds.
