oxygenator
Bypass machine component
An oxygenator is a device that adds oxygen to something—most often blood.
In heart-lung machines used during cardiac surgery, the oxygenator performs the lung's function, infusing blood with oxygen and removing carbon dioxide while the heart is stopped.
Aquarium oxygenators bubble air through water to keep fish alive.
