Overwrap is packaging material wrapped around an already-packaged item, typically a thin plastic film applied over boxes or containers for protection, tamper evidence, or bundling multiple units together: Remove the overwrap before opening.
As a verb, to overwrap is to apply such covering: The manufacturer overwraps each carton in cellophane.
