overspin
Ball curves downward
Overspin is forward rotation on a ball, causing it to spin in the direction of travel.
In tennis and table tennis, overspin (or topspin) makes the ball dip faster and bounce higher.
In golf, overspin helps the ball roll farther after landing.
The opposite is backspin, which causes the ball to check or roll backward.
