overbreed
Produce too many
To overbreed is to breed animals excessively, either producing too many offspring or breeding too selectively for particular traits at the expense of health.
Purebred dogs are often overbred, resulting in genetic problems: Bulldogs have been so overbred they can barely breathe.
The term applies to any animal population bred beyond sustainable or healthy limits.
