outbreed
Cross genetic lines
Outbreed means to breed with individuals outside one's immediate group, producing offspring with greater genetic diversity.
In biology, outbreeding is the opposite of inbreeding—mating between unrelated or distantly related individuals: Populations that outbreed tend to be healthier.
The term applies to animals, plants, and discussions of human genetics.
