vacuum forming
Suction plastic molding
Vacuum forming is a manufacturing process in which a heated plastic sheet is stretched over a mold, then shaped by removing the air between them.
The vacuum pulls the softened material tightly against the mold's contours.
The technique produces packaging, trays, automotive parts, and protective casings: The blister pack was made by vacuum forming.
