on-stage

In the spotlight

On-stage describes something happening on the stage during a performance, as opposed to backstage or in the audience: The actor forgot his lines on-stage.

It extends to any public performance situation: She's shy off-stage but magnetic on-stage.

The term contrasts with offstage, which refers to areas or moments out of the audience's view.
