stalwarts
Unwavering party members
Stalwarts are loyal, reliable supporters—people who can be counted on through difficulty or over time.
The word often describes committed members of a political party or organization: party stalwarts, stalwarts of the movement.
A stalwart is dependable in a sturdy, unglamorous way—not flashy, but steadfast.
