nuclear particles

Core's tiny constituents

Nuclear particles are the subatomic components found within an atomic nucleus—primarily protons and neutrons, collectively called nucleons.

The term sometimes extends to other particles involved in nuclear reactions and radioactive decay, such as alpha particles and beta particles.

The experiment measured the energy of nuclear particles emitted during fission.
