nerve pain
Sharp shooting discomfort
Nerve pain is pain caused by damage or dysfunction in the nervous system rather than by injury to tissue.
Unlike the ache of a bruise or the sharp pain of a cut, nerve pain often feels like burning, shooting, or electric shocks.
It may occur without apparent cause or in response to light touch that shouldn't hurt.
Medical term: neuropathic pain.
