natural son
Child born unwed
A natural son is a son born to parents who were not married to each other—the older, more formal term for what is now usually called an illegitimate child or a child born out of wedlock.
The phrase appears most often in legal and historical contexts: The duke acknowledged his natural son but could not make him heir.
Natural daughter is the corresponding term for females.
