Door office signs
Nameplates are small signs or plaques bearing a person's name, typically mounted on doors, desks, or walls to identify an office or workspace: Her nameplate said "Dr. Chen, Department Chair".
The term also applies to metal plates on machinery identifying the manufacturer, or to the title banner at the top of a newspaper's front page.
