myelograms

Spinal canal scans

Myelograms are X-ray images of the spinal canal taken after injecting contrast dye into the spinal fluid.

The procedure, called myelography, helps diagnose spinal cord compression, herniated discs, tumors, or other abnormalities affecting the spine and nerve roots: The myelogram revealed a ruptured disc pressing on the nerve.
