Early status summary
A morning report is a daily briefing or summary presented at the start of a workday.
In military contexts, it's the formal accounting of a unit's personnel status—who is present, absent, or on leave.
In hospitals, morning report is a teaching conference where residents present cases to attending physicians.
News programs use the term for early broadcasts: Tune in for the morning report at six.
