proof of residence
Where you live
Proof of residence is documentation showing where a person lives—utility bills, bank statements, lease agreements, or official mail bearing the address.
Government agencies, banks, and schools commonly require it when issuing IDs, opening accounts, or enrolling students: They asked for two forms of proof of residence.
The requirement verifies that someone actually lives at the claimed address rather than simply receiving mail there.
