monophase
Single alternating current
Monophase describes something having or operating in a single phase.
Most commonly used in electrical engineering for single-phase power systems, as opposed to multiphase or polyphase configurations: monophase current, monophase motor.
The term also appears in chemistry and materials science to describe systems existing in one uniform phase rather than multiple distinct phases.
