mitre box

Angled saw guide

A mitre box is a guide for cutting precise angles, typically 45 or 90 degrees.

It's a three-sided channel with pre-cut slots that hold a handsaw at fixed angles, used for cutting picture frames, moulding, and trim work: Use a mitre box to get clean corners on the baseboard.

Also spelled miter box.
