rope pulling
Two teams, one line
Rope pulling is a contest of strength between two teams gripping opposite ends of a rope, each trying to drag the other across a center line.
Also called tug-of-war.
The activity serves as a metaphor for any struggle between opposing forces: The budget negotiations became a rope pulling between fiscal hawks and spending advocates.
