Metric conversion is the process of changing measurements from one system to another—typically between metric units (meters, grams, liters) and imperial or US customary units (feet, pounds, gallons).
The term also applies to converting within the metric system: Converting kilometers to meters is easy metric conversion.
Countries that have undergone metric conversion have officially adopted the metric system.
