folkies
Acoustic scene regulars
Folkies are fans or performers of folk music, especially those associated with the acoustic, often politically conscious folk revival of the mid-twentieth century.
The term can be affectionate or mildly dismissive, depending on context: The folkies gathered at the coffee house for open mic night.
Someone might be called a folkie for their musical tastes, their earnest style, or both.
