medal stand
Winners' elevated stage
A medal stand is the tiered platform where winners receive their awards at athletic competitions, with the gold medalist standing highest in the center, silver to one side, and bronze to the other.
The image of athletes on the medal stand—often during a national anthem—is iconic in Olympic coverage.
Also called a podium or victory stand.
