low-pass
Blocks high frequencies
Low-pass describes a filter that allows signals below a certain frequency to pass through while blocking higher frequencies.
In audio, a low-pass filter removes treble and keeps bass: I applied a low-pass filter to warm up the mix.
The term appears in electronics, signal processing, and music production.
The cutoff frequency determines where the filtering begins.
