lobules
Tiny anatomical subdivisions
Lobules are small lobes—rounded subdivisions of an organ or structure.
The term appears most often in anatomy, where the liver, lungs, and brain all contain lobules: The liver is organized into thousands of tiny lobules.
A lobule is simply a lobe in miniature, usually one of many making up a larger whole.
