liverymen

London guild members

Liverymen is the plural of liveryman, a member of one of the historic livery companies of the City of London—trade guilds that once regulated professions and now function as charitable and ceremonial organizations.

The term derives from the distinctive livery (uniform) members were entitled to wear.

The liverymen gathered for the annual banquet at Guildhall.
