live captions
Instant spoken transcription
Live captions are text transcriptions of speech generated in real time, appearing on screen as words are spoken.
They're used in video calls, broadcasts, and public events to make content accessible to deaf or hard-of-hearing viewers, or anyone who can't turn on audio: I turned on live captions during the meeting so I could follow along while my kids were noisy.
