linearization
Making curves straight
Linearization is the process of approximating something complex with a simpler, straight-line model.
In mathematics and engineering, it means treating a curved or nonlinear function as if it were linear within a small range, making calculations more manageable: Linearization of the equations simplified the control system design.
More broadly, linearization can mean arranging things into a sequence or single line of progression.
