limboing

Leaning way back

Limboing is bending backward to pass under a progressively lowered horizontal bar—the signature move of the limbo dance.

The word often appears figuratively for any awkward maneuvering through tight constraints: We spent the afternoon limboing through bureaucratic requirements.

Also used for states of suspension or uncertainty: I've been limboing between jobs for months.
