lemon battery
Acidic fruit power
A lemon battery is a simple electrochemical cell made by inserting two different metal electrodes—typically zinc and copper—into a lemon.
The citric acid acts as an electrolyte, allowing a small electric current to flow between the metals.
It's a classic science fair demonstration of how batteries work: We made a lemon battery that powered a tiny LED.
