lead hook
Front hand strike
A lead hook is a boxing punch thrown with the front hand in a curved, horizontal arc toward the opponent's head or body.
Unlike jabs that travel straight, the hook swings from the side, generating power through hip rotation.
Called "lead" because it comes from the hand closest to the opponent: He dropped his guard and caught a lead hook to the jaw.
