laureling
Honoring with greenery
Laureling is the act of honoring or crowning someone with laurel, the aromatic evergreen whose leaves were traditionally woven into wreaths to crown victors and poets in ancient Greece and Rome.
The term extends to any form of bestowing praise or recognition for achievement.
